Anthony Atkinson is a singer/songwriter from Melbourne who in 2003 released his debut solo record 'Come home for Autumn' on the independent label Candle Records. Anthony was formerly lead singer of the occasionally noticed indie pop band The Mabels and they released an E.P and two albums between 1996 and 2001. Anthony now has a new band (The Running Mates) that features some of his good friends from other Melbourne bands such as The Lucksmiths, Mid State Orange and Joni Lightning. Anthony plays regularly in Melbourne and often in other capital cities around Australia. In 2000 he did a fourteen date acoustic tour of the the East coast of America with Kim Parker from the Mabels. In late 2003 he toured the U.K and parts of Europe.His second record 'Loyalty Songs' was released in October 2006. He is also a grade 2 primary school teacher in Melbourne's inner north.
